OH, IT RAINS! - TIMELESS ELEGANCE, MAXIMUM COMFORT AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN FOR B&B ITALIA

The Oh, it Rains ! outdoor collection is the result of the very first collaboration between B&B Italia and Philippe Starck. The project touches on new territories not previously explored by the Italian company and continues the search for increasingly environmentally friendly solutions in outdoor furniture.

Oh, it rains ! impresses at first glance thanks to its generous backrest, which naturally provides an intimate and protective space. After years of work, the B&B Italia Research and Development Centre along with Philippe Starck have developed an original, mechanical joint which allows the backrest to be completely folded over. Form and function therefore combine in a single movement when in the event of rain, the backrest can be quickly and efficiently doubled over, thus protecting everything from the elements.

The materials used are available in a palette of warm and natural tones ranging from beige to brown, while the raffia-inspired fabrics are water-repellent, making the furniture completely waterproof. All elements, including the backrest, are customizable and each piece from the collection can be dismantled completely to ensure correct recycling at the end of its life cycle.

Combining timeless elegance, maximum comfort and innovative design, the collection includes an outdoor sofa and armchair and fits functionally and perfectly into any public or private environment.

Available in B&B Italia stores from March 2020, the Oh, it rains ! collection has already been awarded “Best Cover Up” for its “ingenious response to unpredictable weather” by Wallpaper* Magazine in their 2020 design awards.
