A treasure hunt guided by Philippe Starck in the MNAA, Portugal

As part of the MNAA 12 Escolhas program, the Museu Nacional de Arte Antigua in Lisbon invited Philippe Starck to choose a selection of art from the Museum's collections, defining a "road map" of subjective affinities. For this cultural initiative, Starck has selected 40 enigmatic fragments from the collection of Portuguese paintings to encourage visitors to discover the hidden treasures of the museum "which will transport them to infinite worlds".

“You go to the museum, you look at paintings, you either find them beautiful or not so beautiful and then it’s over, you go home and all is forgotten.

I would like to ask you to search for 40 different fragments of paintings. If you manage to find them, it’s because you have really looked, scrutinized, understood the shadow and the light, transcended matter and opened the door to the mysteries of the imagination.

To see is to understand.” Ph.S
