“PHILIPPE STARCK & DESIGN FOR EVERYONE” AT MAD

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs, MAD, in Paris presents an entirely revisited presentation of its contemporary collections : confronting design with contemporary fashion, graphic art, advertising campaigns, toys, wallpaper, glass…

A new room “Philippe Starck & design for everyone" is dedicated to Starck’s work.

"Philippe Starck and design for everyone", will evoke the central place that the creator occupies on the international scene of creation. On display: key pieces that testify to his wide field of action, from the box of the wooden “Starck house" to the Kartell chairs and Flos lamps and the models of revolutionary megayachts Venus and Motor Yacht A.

"We are creators, builders, for better and for worse. Producers of subjects, dreams, theories, utopias, stories. For thousands of years, irresponsible and childish, we have created creation creating creation.

Everyone participates; no one needs to be a genius. This room is precisely the example of a human, no better than others, who dedicated his life to do everything and nothing, with the crazy hope that it could please or even improve lives.” Ph.S
