During two days, philosophers, scientists, searchers and other genius shared their ideas at Palais Brongniart. Philippe Starck was one of the speakers and shared his vision on creativity and "the several ways of design".

Philippe Starck love Japan, 100 masks for Japan

Philippe Starck the Asia Mix Culture association that organizes a charitable operation to help the Japanese children.
Minimix has entrusted him a hygienic to be redesigned, that will be exhibited and sold by auction.
Philippe Starck has created a mask entitled: "The hope is the survival ":
"The mask is the answer for today; holes remind us that tomorrow the brave Japanese will breath pure air " PH. S
The exhibition will be held in the Decorative arts in Paris on September 20th and 21st, 2011. The auction will take place on September 21st in the evening. The profits of this operation will be given to “Enfant sans Frontières” based in Japan, the most important O.N.G. whose purpose is to help children.

Philippe Starck, Judge for the Frame Moooi Award

Philippe Starck will be judging the Frame Moooi Award, which kicks off 1 September when the online application system will open.
The competition is looking for the best furniture and lamps that have been designed for a specific interior. The winning project will be published in Frame Magazine and its designer will receive the grand prize of € 25,000.
Philippe Starck shortlisted candidates will be revealed on 15 March, 2012, and the winner will be announced in April at a special award ceremony at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Philippe Starck awarded at Elle 25th Anniversary in Madrid, Spain

Philippe Starck attended ELLE Awards 25th Anniversary, on June 30, 2011 in Madrid, where he received the award of ‘Visionary Artist 2011.
At the same time he gave the Award of the best film-maker to Pedro Almodovar, preceded by an analysis of its work through the values of the good and the evil and by the future changes of the morality.

Philippe Starck, president of jury of the contest ‘Idea Flow Future Speed’

Philippe Starck, president of the jury for the SNCF contest “Ideaflow Future Speed”. The ideas were judged by Philippe Starck and three other juries: JR, ‘street artist’, Jean-Pierre Khazem, photographer and Jan Aman, curator, writer, columnist and urban activist based in Stockholm.
How do you imagine the high speed rail travel of 2041? Was the question posed by the SNCF which was turned into the contest “Ideaflow Future Speed”. The aim was to collect ideas from the younger generations on the future of rail travel and to try to really get to grips with what their expectations were in terms of travelling by train.
An interview with Philippe Starck will be released in a train as an exhibition to celebrate the 30 years of TGV whose theme is: "The train of the future, dreamed and fantasized by travelers."

Philippe Starck guest of honour at BIO Fair for Riko

Following his work with the company Riko, concerning his Democratic Ecologic Architecture, ‘DEARS’, Philippe Starck opened the 22nd International Biennial of Industrial Design (BIO 22) at the Museum of Architecture and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the 7th of October 2010. On this occasion, Philippe Starck shared his vision of design and creation in general, by advocating ethical, ecological and democratic design.
The biennial is a cultural event directly connected to industry, economy, the design profession, innovation, education and development. This event offers a bridge between the professional and the general public, what is important for Philippe Starck.

Philippe Starck Enters Grévin Museum

Philippe Starck joins 250 personalities at the Grévin Museum in Paris, June 15, 2010.
He met with the sculpturer Eric Saint-Chaffray and the rest of the studio team to design a wax figure of him. Each detail was primordial and everything had to be perfectly studied for the resemblance to be flabbergasting.
The wax figure of Philippe Starck is represented as standing and leaning with a one handed glove against his “Louis Ghost” chair. Philippe Starck gave his own clothes to dress the figure.
"I have the impression that it is him the real one; It’s like a feeling of imposture. It is like a three-dimensional mirror. I see myself non living . It is strange and disturbing. In any case, I am extremely honoured. Certain imbeciles refuse the honour” Ph. S

For the Festival “Exit”, Philippe Starck participated to the performance, Le Son du Nous (understand “The Sound of Us”). This show is a resonant exploration based on a playful dialogue between Philippe Starck, Soundwalk, and the public. In the performance, Philippe Starck shares his passion for sound, while members of Soundwalk, accompanied by instrumentalists and sound technicians, respond to Starck using sounds captured around the world over the course of the last decade.
Through altered reality, the manipulation of sound, and musical interpretations, this show guides us together to the discovery of a unique sound.

It is a challenge taken on by the director Vassili Silovic in the program Empreintes deticated to Philippe Starck.
For this shooting, the creator established certain conditions: to not evoke his past or his professional career path, to not talk about design and to not show his work. But to explore his mind, express the shadow…
Philippe Starck has found a fresh angle: work on his ideal portrait. “Ladies and Gentalmen, hello. My name is Philippe Starck. I am a nice boy, although old and too fat. There are people, not knowing what to do, want to produce films about uninteresting people to show them to people that don’t care. This film should not even exist given that it is a film about someone who does not want to be filmed. What I would like is, instead of making a film about the portrait of Philippe Starck, his life, his work, his projects, would be to scan his brain; that is to say, to go look at what happens inside. It’s that or nothing…”
